Application Guide.

Surface Preparation

  1. The surface should have a light even texture. Masonry should be flush pointed and all defects in existing surfaces made good. Ensure all high points and protrustions are ground off.
  2. Surface must be clean and dry, free from dust and loose material... Due to the wide variety of substrates available, it is always advisable to check adhesion by laying a test sample before commencing the job.
  3. Blow-holes, areas of honeycombing, etc., to be filled and the surface brought back to an even profile with a suitable repair render. Trowel to a smooth even finish and allow to cure.

Application Procedure and Equipment

  1. Apply Bondbreaker into internal angles/ corners (wall and floor junction) and vertical angles/ corners (wall and wall junction)as per standard.
  2. Tiling over expansion joints and construction joints must be have tiles placed in such a mannner that the joint (extra wide grout line) can be filled with elastomeric sealant.
  3. After application of Bondbreaker, apply 1st coat of Wetite using a brush. Work from corners towards exposed areas. Allow to dry.
  4. Apply a 2nd coat of Wetite at right angles to the previous application using a brush or roller.
  5. Allow to dry before the application of a screed or the commencement of tiling.
  6. If pond testing is required, allow to dry for 7 days (dependant on weather conditions) to ensure adequate curing.
  7. Pond test with water to a depth of 25mm for 24 hours.

Precautions.

  1. Do not apply if the temperature is below 7oC or relative humidity is above 85% or if rain is imminent.
  2. Do not apply Wetite to wet substrates. The moiture content of the surface should be less than 15%. Check with a moiture meter if unsure

Application Guide.

Surface Preparation

  1. Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry and free of contaiminants.
  2. Any white efflorescence salts must be removed by either dry brushing with a stiff bristle brush or treatment with Crommelin Efflorescence Remover. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow to dry.
  3. Ensure surface is dry by either testing with a moisture meter or by placing a square metre sheet of black plastic on an area most likely to be damp. Place into position as sun gains heat and remove as sun loses heat. If condensation appears on plastic, do not apply product. Repeat until no condensation appears.

Application Procedure and Equipment

  1. Application equipment should be by airless spray or for small areas a roller suitable for solvent borne products.
  2. Whilst substrate must be saturated, do not allow the liquid product to sit on any surface. If it does not penetrate. Spread surplus with a brush until saturated into surface.
  3. 1st coat - apply and allow to dry.
  4. Apply 2nd coat when the first is sufficiently dry (to touch).

Precautions.

  1. Must be applied to a dry substrate.
  2. Do not allow to pool during application

Application Guide.

Surface Preparation

  1. The concrete mix design should be free of any cement replacement materials such as fly ash, slag or silica fume, or waterproofing admixtures. Ensure Ordinary Portland Cement/ Type A, G.P.(General Purpose) or S.L.(Shrinkage Limited) cement is specified only.
  2. PWC must be applied to a clean, dry, dust free concrete surface.
  3. New concrete must be at least 28 days old. Renders may be treated after 7 days.
  4. Any materials that retard penetration such as curing compounds must be removed prior to application.
  5. Old or carbonated concrete requires Calcium solution treatment to reinstate free Calcium.
  6. Where segregation or voids are apparent, chip out, treat with PWC, and then make good with cementitious materials.
  7. Pour structural slabs to fall lines where possible. No protective screed is required.
  8. For large or stubborn cracks, grind out and flood crack with product. A Calcium solution may be required to bulk up the product in large cracks. Fill with a non-shrink or polymer modified grout, or revert to an elastomeric sealer if there is a possibility that the crack is working or volatile. In large cracks where pruduct runs through quickly, use waterproof tape on the underside to pond product in the crack.
  9. Good concrete practice must be followed such as adequate curing, compaction and vibration.

Application Procedure and Equipment

  1. Locate all cracks and flood with solution first ensuring they are filled with product.
  2. Apply the solution to the remaining area at the rate of between 4-6m2/L.
  3. When surface become touch dry (2-6 hours depending on wind condition and ambient temperature) - flood spray the treated areas with water. First watering must begin at maximum of 6 hours even if product still wet.
  4. Day 2 - 24 hours late water again.
  5. On day 3-24 hours later water again.
  6. After the third watering, pond the treated area for the minimum of 12 hours to verify a waterproof seal has been achieved.
  7. Introduction Manuals detailing the background of the product and a Technical Bief of the scientific testing undertaken are available upon request.

Precautions.

  1. Protect glass, aluminium, wood and painted finishes from overspray.
  2. PWC is not suitable for sealing working / volatile cracks as a result of structural defects or caused by mechanical damage. Nor will it provide continual crack healing in concrete mixes containing fly ash, slag, silica fume or waterproofing admixtures.
  3. The product on its own is not suitable for sealing where segregation and voids are likely such as construction joints.
  4. Nor suitable around penetrations where there is a non - masonry / cementitious interface.
  5. PWC is not suitable for negative hydrostatic pressure applications such as the inside face of a basement / retaining wall which is continually wet.
  6. Do not apply where ambient temperatures are below 5oC or above 35oC
