Test have shown that CROMFLOORTM WB2K, when applied over concrete, will withstand a hydrotatic pressure of approximately 210kPa for up to 36 hours.(Negative head of pressure = 20.7m )

Application Guide.

Surface Preparation

  1. Concrete surface should be free from grease and oil - if necessary, clean with industrial grade degreaser of apply a poultice.
  2. Steps must be taken to remove laitance. This is best carried out by using either mechanical abrasion or acid etching. Upon completion of etching, neutralise, rinse thoroughly and allow to dry.
  3. Loose or weak concrete should be removed and the surface repaired by first priming with CROMFLOORTM WB2K, Fill up all voids using a mix of one part of the CROMFLOORTM WB2K mixed to 4 parts of clean fine sand.

Application Procedure and Equipment

  1. Mix Parts 1 and 2 separately first.
  2. Do not mix more product than will be used in 40 minutes as curing will occur. Note Recommended at 25oC and 50% relative humidity. An increase in temperature will reduce the amount of product to be mixed. A decrease in temperature will increase the amount of product that can be mixed.
  3. Mix equal parts of Part 1 and Part 2 together thoroughly. It is strongly suggested to use a high speed drill and propeller mixing blade. Mix for at least 3 - 4 minutes.
  4. Aplly by roller, brush or airless spray.
  5. In cold weather 5% water can be added after Part 1 and Part 2 have been mixed together.
  6. To provide a light profile slip resistant finish add Crommelin Slip Resistant Additive(SRA) to mixed CROMFLOORTM WB2K at the rate to achieve the desired finish(i.e. 100 g/L).
  7. To apply a slip resistant profile adjustable to requirements broadcast dry graded aggregrate into the wet 1st coat and allow to dry. Remove excess aggregate and over coat with 2nd coat.

Precautions.

  1. Do not apply to surfaces that are below 10oC or when relative humidity is above 85%.
  2. Poor mixing or inaccurate mixing ratios will result in variable cure and less than optimum hardness.
  3. Never add more than 10% water.
  4. Do not apply latex adhesives or sealants before CROMFLOORTM WB2K is hard dry.

Technical Data.

Width: 130 microns(average)

Weight: 0.4 kg/1 Lít

Consumption: 375 ml / 15 Lít(This can be varied depending on desired profile).

Application Guide.

Application Procedure and Equipment

  1. Add the CROMFLOORTM Slip Resistive Additive at the amount required to achieve the desired profile.
  2. It is essential to ensure the Slip Resistive Additive is poured slowly into the sealer whilst stirring.
  3. Application of sealer with Slip Resistive Additive should follow as the procedures for the particular CROMSHIELDTM Slealer or CROMFLOORTM coating.

Precautions.

  1. A test patch should always be carried out.
  2. Do not apply to heavily, as sealer performance will be affected.

Surface Preparation

  1. For old concrete floors, restore surface by patching, filling, grouting, etc. Surfaces must be cleaned to be free of any oil, dirt, dust and other foreign matter. Any incompatible sealers/coatings to be removed by power tools or strippers.

Application Porcedure and Equipment

  1. CROMFLOORTM Safecure is to be used as supplied in the container without thinning.
  2. To cure, harden and dust - proof new concrete floors, CROMFLOORTM Safecure shall be spray applied to concrete surfaces immediately after the disappearance of the surface water and when it is no longer marred by foot traffic.
  3. Spray surfaces uniformly leaving no pinholes or gaps, at a rate not exceeding 5m2/ L. If spray equipment is not available, apply with a soft bristle broom or lambs wool applicator, as soon as the floor is hard enough to walk on. Avoid puddles or build up of surface film.
  4. If a second coat is necessary to uniformly seal the porosity of the concrete, or for improved dust proofing, allow overnight drying of the first coat before applying second coat.
  5. After the work of the other construction trades is completed, the application of one coat of CROMFLOORTM Safecure is recommended, particularly if only one coat was initially applied. Clean the surface thoroughly and allow to dry. Apply the second coat as outlined above.

Precautions.

Do not apply below 100C, if relative humidity is above 85% or if rain is imminent

Application Guide.

Surface Preparation

  1. For new concrete, ensure concrete had been cured for at least 28 days. Ensure all traces of oil or other contaminants are removed, as this may affect adhesion.
  2. For old concrete, remove all contaminants by mechanical or chemical means, such as detergent wash, household bleach and high - pressure washing. The level of cleaning will determine the final appearance that will be achieved.

Application Procedure and Equipment

  1. Before application, assess the porosity of the concrete. If the concrete has little or no porosity, dilute CROMFLOORTM Rocfloor 1:1 with water and apply this diluted mixture at rate of 10 m2 / L. This will assist in good penetration.
  2. If the first coat imparts a well-seal surface, to prevent a high gloss finish, dilute the second coat 1:1 with water as well, and apply at a rate of 10m2 / L. If a high gloss finish is required the second coat may be applied undiluted.
  3. For older, worn / dusting concrete, dilution is not required.

Precautions.

  • Do not apply CROMFLOORTM Rocfloor if the temperature is below 100C, or if relative humidity is above 85% or if rain is imminent.
  • Do not apply CROMFLOORTM Rocfloor to wet substrates - moisture content should be less than 15%. Check with a moisture meter.

Surface Preparation

  1. On new concrete, ensure concrete had been cured for at least 28 days. Ensure all traces of oil or other contaminants are removed, as this may affect adhesion.
  2. On old concrete, remove all disfiguring contaminants by mechanical or chemical means, such as detergent wash, household bleach and high-pressure washing. The level of cleaning will determine the final appearance that will be achieved.
  3. When refinishing old concrete, test adhesion of CROMFLOORTM PU 51 with duct tape before proceeding. Any pick off indicates that more sanding and cleaning is required.

Application Procedure and Equipment

  1. Before application, assess the porosity of the concrete. On new concrete apply a coat of CROMFLOORTM Rocfloor as a sealer: Mix 3 parts CROMFLOORTM Rocfloor to 1 part water to increase penetration. For older, worn / dusting concrete, dilution may not be required and apply at a rate of 6 - 12 m2 / L.
  2. CROMFLOORTM Rocfloor may be top coated in 3 -4 hours with CROMFLOORTM PU 51.

Precautions.

  • Do not apply CROMFLOORTM PU 51 if the temperature is below 100C, or if relative humidity is above 85%, or if rain is imminent.
  • Do not apply CROMFLOORTM PU 51 to wet substrates - moisture content should be less than 15%. Check with a moisture meter.
  • Where floor treatments are later laid only use latex base adhesives.
